MEETING POINTS

Any meeting that is hosted or co-hosted by SAVMA counts as a meeting point. You can find upcoming meetings on the SAVMA Bulletin board, SAVMA emails, and our upcoming events page.

READING THE SAVMA POINTS SPREADSHEET

  • The SAVMA spreadsheet is organized by SAVMA ID number.

  • Payment Column:

    • X = paid for 4 years.

    • If there is a number after the X, this is how many years you paid for.

    • Ex: X1 = 1 year, X2 = 2 years, etc.

    • You must pay for the number of years you are in school, so if that ends up being more than 4, you must pay for your extra year(s).

      • Only exception is for PhD-DVM students: pay for the number of years you're in your DVM

  • Years Active Column:

    • This indicates the years where you met all requirements to be an active member of SAVMA.

    • If this column says all the years that you have been in school here at MSU CVM, then you are up to date.

    • If all years are not listed here, in the far right column titled "Notes," it will tell you what you are missing for those years. This may be points, payment for one of the years, or both.

      • See below for more on the notes column.

  • Points Columns:

    • These are the points you have earned throughout the current year.

    • All previous year’s records are kept but removed from this spreadsheet every summer.

    • If you met all requirements it will be noted in the years active column.

  • Points Accrued Column:

    • This indicates how many extra active points you have earned and “banked up” from both prior years and the current year.

  • Notes Column:

    • This is where you will find notes regarding anything attached to your SAVMA membership.

    • Points Key:

      • MP = Meeting Point

      • AP = Active Point

      • Each of these will include the year that you need those points made up from.

  • Grad Packet Column:

    • 4th Year Only

    • Indicates if you are eligible for Post-Graduate benefits through the AVMA
